Bloom Township will be giving way 500-gallons of milk each week to those in need. The distribution will kick-off on Thursday, April 23rd from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Township Food Pantry entrance on the North side of the Bloom Township Center at 425 Halsted Street, Chicago Heights (directly across from Prairie State College). Each family who attends will receive one, free gallon of milk. The milk program will occur every Thursday as long as product availability continues.
This year’s Cop on Rooftop event was another "slam dunk." Residents and Olympians showed up in support of the officers sitting on the Halsted Street Dunkin' Donuts rooftop. Some brave souls even took a shot at dunking Mayor Gonzalez who volunteered to take a turn in the dunk tank with all proceeds donated in support of Special Olympics Illinois.
